GENERAL INFORMATION
The East Midlands is England's fourth largest region. It has a population of 4.3 million and covers 15,607 square kilometres. There are six counties; Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland. The main population centres are the cities Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham and Northampton.

East Midlands Development Agency Website:
East Midlands Development Agency (emda) is one of nine Regional Development Agencies in England, set up in 1999 to bring a regional focus to economic development. Their primary goal is to increase the economic growth of the region while reducing disparities between the East Midlands and other English regions.
Their key role is to be the strategic driver of sustainable economic development. They work in partnership with public, private and voluntary organisations to deliver the goals of the Regional Economic Strategy, which They produce on behalf of the region.

National Federation of Enterprise Agencies East Midlands:
NFEA is a network of independent, not for profit, Local Enterprise Agencies and similar organisations committed to responding to the needs of small and growing businesses by providing a range of appropriate quality services. In particular, but not exclusively, our members target pre-start, start-up and micro businesses and assist in building their ability to survive, sustain themselves and grow.
