EAST OF ENGLAND

GENERAL INFORMATION

The East of England comprises the six counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, and contains the four unitary authorities of Peterborough, Luton, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. The region is made up of 17 significant towns and cities, and hundreds of market towns of between 2,000 and 20,000 people.

The East of England is unique among the English regions in that ithas no major centre of population and no urban engine to drive economic and social policy.

National Federation of Enterprise Agencies East of England:

NFEA is a network of independent, not for profit, Local Enterprise Agencies and similar organisations committed to responding to the needs of small and growing businesses by providing a range of appropriate quality services. In particular, but not exclusively, our members target pre-start, start-up and micro businesses and assist in building their ability to survive, sustain themselves and grow.
