We are a County-wide Chamber of Commerce delivering information and contact details to over 1000 businesses of all sizes. We are also heavily involved with local schools and colleges encouraing them to think about sustainable practices and carbon reduction.

Background
Formed by business owners to pursue shared interests. Local businessmen are members, and elect an executive council to run the chamber.

Responsible business objectives

• Raising the awareness of staff about climate change and empowering them to take action;

• Providing information to customers about the carbon footprint of your products and services;

• Raising customer awareness about the actions they can take to reduce the carbon emissions resulting from the use of products and services.

How they do it

• Surrey Chambers of Comerce have been running seminars for businesses on reduing waste and energy. They have written various articles in their regular business magazine reminding businesses of the need to abserve the 3Rs and offering support and to help acheive those aims.

• It's difficult to say given that our activities are aimed at our members and their impact will be monitired via Envirowise, Carbon Trust or BREW.
