The Northwest region is home to more than 230,000 businesses.

Nearly half the Northwest's businesses are small and medium-sized companies with 10 - 200 employees. There are about 1,400 organisations employing more than 200 people in the Northwest, which together account for 30% of the region's employment.

Chemical, textile, engineering, food and drink and manufacturing industries together account for 75% of the Northwest's manufacturing output.
Tourism has an increasing role to play - over 15 million tourists annually experience all that the North West has to offer.

We support and mentor Northwest businesses through the development of programmes in responsible business practice.

We provide information, tools and bulletins to help you incorporate responsible business practice and sustainability into your business.

Because we know you're busy we keep it smart and simple - we highlight what value it gives your business.

So you are not working alone we provide you with Northwest success stories and networking opportunities.

We train and support people advising and working with small businesses so they are up-to-date on responsible business practice and sustainability and can meet your needs.

We actively promote the Northwest on an international level as a region that leads on corporate responsibility to raise its profile amongst investors, customers and potential employees.
