Launch of the Better Business Journey - a jargon-free guide for SMEs August 2006
Calling all small and medium sized businesses, whatever size, age, sector or location that are interested in increasing their profitability and responsibility at the same time.
The UK Small Business Consortium has produced a jargon-free booklet for owner-managers of small businesses and their advisers which covers sustainability and responsible business practice in a simple 'how to' guide format.
In it you will find practical tips and actions as well as examples of small businesses from around the UK that are already finding that responsible business makes good business sense.
Responsibility and sustainability are increasingly in the news - whether it is fair-trade, organic food, climate change or equal opportunities. These issues are especially important for small businesse in today's competitive market where adding value through responsible business practices can be a key factor of success.
Better Business Journey is an essential tool for small and medium sized businesses when facing these new challenges. It focused on four key business areas: People, Premises, Purchasing and Promotion and highlights specific ways in which small companies can add value to their business. This may mean adding to their reputation, adding to their public recognition, adding customers, skills or simply adding to the bottom line.
Better Business Journey has been produced on behalf of the Small Business Consortium which brings together a number of leading organisations representing small firms and several which champion responsible business practice.
